Some of the negative press about curbstoners deal says that they engage in shady business practices. Don't be one of them. The best policy is to be completely honest and try to remove any shade of suspicion. Some curbstoners have titles on cars from where their previous owner signed it over and just left the buyer's name blank. Don't do this. Get the title put in your name. Yes, it's a bit more work, but it goes miles toward establishing trustworthiness. If you can, go ahead and get the carfax on the vehicle and have it in hand. Again, this goes a long way to establishing your honesty. If you have any of the vehicle's service records, include them. If you don't have them, just say so.
